He got rejected due to his "C" grade. He then applied for the second time but got rejected again. He applied again but still got rejected the third time!He was born Steven Allan Spielberg on 18th December, 1946. After highschool, Spielberg wanted to study film at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts.

He then applied into another school, California State University, Long Beach. This time he was admitted to major in English but he dropped out to pursue his entertainment career.
While still a student, he was offered a small unpaid intern job at Universal Studios with the editing department. It was there he was later given the opportunity to make a short film for theatre release, the 26 minute long Amblin', which he wrote and directed.
The studio vice president Sidney Sheinberg was impressed by it. The film went on to win a number of awards and Steven was offered a 7-year contract, making him the youngest director ever to be signed for a long-term deal in Hollywood.
Today, he is known for his very successful movies: "Jaws", "Jurassic Park", "Schlinder's List", "Catch Me If You Can", "The Colour Purple", "Back To The Future III." All of his works display his exceeding talents that keeps on dazzling us.
He has directed over 27 movies and has won 3 Oscars, including two for Best Director. The gross of all his directed films is said to exceed $8.5 billion worldwide and his net worth is valued at $3.6 billion as at 2015.
