Understanding the Importance of Being Loyal
"Loyalty over royalty; word is bond."
Loyalty is faithfulness or a devotion to a person, country, group or cause. Loyalty is the ability to put others before yourself, to stick with them through thick and thin and to look out for them.
Being loyal is about keeping it real. Real loyalty is a choice and it starts from within. When you decide to be loyal to a cause, then nothing should influence that loyalty.
Whenever you find yourself in a relationship where it's impossible for either party to stay loyal, then questions need to be asked. Is this the right relationship? Are we headed in the right direction?
It could be that the others involved are not loyal and trustworthy. Don't force yourself on someone who does not appreciate your loyalty, it's - stupidity.
Don't test your friends loyalty by putting them to the task. It could backfire and would lead to a lot of accusing fingers pointing at each other. Even you wouldn't be happy when your loyalty is put to the test by a friend even if you passed the test.
Trust your friends until they give you a reason not to. If you cannot trust your friends in the smaller things, definitely they would let you down when you really need them. Remember, the old adage goes "a friend in need is a friend indeed."
Sometimes you might find yourself in a tight corner where two people or things that you are loyal to are clashing, and you need to pledge your loyalty to one.
It could really be difficult. The only thing you need to do is go with what you strongly feel in your heart. Don't allow external factors like wealth or promises influence your decision. Just be loyal for the right cause.
Finally, in whatever relationship you find yourself - stay loyal. Loyalty is the security in relationship. Loyalty is not just achieved. Of course it takes time, gaining TRUST.
