What Lies In The World Beyond

Everyone, just about anyone must have given this some thought - What lies in the world beyond? What happens when we shut our eyes for good? What does it feel like to be dead?

I lost a friend some couple of weeks back (not like he would be the first I'm losing) but one thing got me that really made his death painful - the memories.

I don't think we really bear that at the back of our minds when we do the things we do, or choose the kind of lifestyle we live, or determine how we want to relate with others around us.

Now this my friend was a bad guy (in all honesty, we all are). He chose the streets & the streets welcomed him with open arms, the same street that murdered him in cold blood.

Not like that mattered to me, he was a good friend & all that remains now of him is the memories of when he would scream my name from a distance & when i walked up to where he was, he would put his hands in my pocket expecting to find some money which he would collect as 'love'. Most times i would give him if i had.

One truth we all come to face from the day we are born is that death is certain. What lies in world beyond truly i do not know. But one thing i know is this:

One day death would come knocking

But before that day draws near

We have a chance to determine how we want to be remembered

Life's for the living so let's live
