A LITTLE BIT OF POSITIVITY & LOVE

Look for the good & you shall find it.

Coming back from Ikeja on Friday, the journey back was very much frustrating for me thanks to the elderly woman beside me & a bunch of other passengers who just wouldn’t stop complaining about everything & anything; bad roads, bad government, inflated transport fares, traffic jams & blah blah blah.

Honestly, I hate negativity & I hate being surrounded by negative people. Seriously, if you have nothing positive to say – shut up! Its way lot better.

That brings me to the first half of the two things I want to talk about today. In life, things are not always rosy & smooth sailing. But one thing that doesn’t solve anything is worry & constant complaint. Rather, search for the good, even in a worst case scenario. Search for the ray of light, even in the darkest hour & you definitely would find it. You always will – that I can assure you.

On a much lighter note – it’s February! The month best known as the ‘Month of Love’. So it is only natural that I had to choose between writing about positivity or love. And seeing that I could not draw myself to a choice, I decided to talk about both. A little bit of this, a little bit of that.

Is fake love still love?

Whenever we talk about love, we use the term ‘True Love’ to differentiate the type of love we give or get wholeheartedly from the type that is only assumed. Fake love is nothing substantial, given by fake people & can only be considered to be an illusion.

So then, what is love? For one to define love, I would have to get all philosophical (which really isn’t my thing). What are the qualities of love? That is a little easier to define cause we all seem to know them already; Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does no wrong/injury. Love is gentle. Love is God & God is love.

But one thing I want to touch on is that – Love doesn’t cost much. It actually doesn’t cost a thing. The next time you ask someone how they are doing, make sure you truly mean it. You just don’t know how a little care could go a long way. Pick up the phone & check up on old friends, fam, people you love. Show a little bit of kindness this season, especially to those who don’t deserve it cause that’s what love means to me.

Alright peeps – stay safe, remain blessed & love more. Bye.
