BIG BROTHER AUDITIONS ALL WRAPED UP

I’ve had a lot of people call to ask me ‘How did it go?
It was fun, it was crazy! It was excitements! And if you were looking for a show, you would have gotten more than enough drama for a complete series. It was signature BigBrother from the very first second.

Y’all knew right from the very start of my ambitions to be on the BigBrother platform cause I was blogging about it all January. So on the first day of the month, I was amongst the many many other Nigerian youths who were vying to be part of that one in a million.

Like I was told, the only qualification needed was to go over there, just be you - they were rather true to their words. I wasn’t shocked either to find a whole generation of crazy people at the audition venue. From the overcrowded streets to people jumping over the fence, people were faking to have fainted, to others suffering ‘domestic violence’. Someone even proposing to his girlfriend! It doesn’t get crazier than that.

But I’m sure glad I got the opportunity to audition. For once I really felt like I found a place where I fit in. Words really can’t describe exactly how I felt but I was really excited, nervous & just grateful to be there. It’s changed my perspective really about a lot of things & it really broke my heart to come back to find so many negative comments on twitter about what BigBrother stands for & represents.

All I can say is that with what I saw on Friday, Nigeria is blessed with a whole generation of overly talented & ambitious people. All we crave is an opportunity to be ourselves, to express ourselves, to not allow society define us, to make a difference in our own little way, a little attention & some money in the bank. I don’t think that is too much to ask or too less of a proper hustle.

Really there is nothing to lose but everything to gain. That’s what it is. I wanna say congratulations to all those who would get selected & finally make it to the house. For those who are not so lucky, there is always a next time. The audition was all about being 100% real – nothing more, nothing less.

It’s ur boy, Pate.
