Just4Fun: Funny Sides to a Valentine
If he’s busy on Valentine’s Day, the side chick is you.
Let me start up this post by saying,
Valentine’s Day 2019 was not really how I expected it to go. For real, I was
hoping it would be a bomb, until two days ago when everything started going
south between me & my girl. Not to say it was a bad day for me (hey there
are always positives in every situation) but I don’t know if I should say I’m
looking forward to next Valentine.
The thing is, Valentine is suppose to be a
day set aside to show singles what they are really missing being single. So for
me (being a couple) to be single on that day, I feel like Valentine might
really be the biggest scam of these recent centuries. But I’m not totally blame-free
though, I cancelled on our date on the last minute & everything backfired.
But amidst all that gloom & sadness, I
still got out & carried on with every day hustle (cause on the streets of
Lagos it was like everybody totally forgot about Valentine). So I really had a
fun filled day & came up with the inspiration for this article. Maybe if
your day was sober like mine, we share something in common. Life is easy &
there are still many more Valentines to come. So sit back, grab a beer &
let’s drink to it. It’s just a joke, nothing serious really. Enjoy!
THE CURSED PRINCE
Once upon a time there was a Prince who was
cursed that he could never speak except on Valentine’s Day each year for which
he could only say a word. If he didn’t speak for two years, he would get two
words the following year & so on (you get the gist).
One certain year, he fell in love with a
beautiful girl – so pretty that she stole his heart away at frst sight. He
refrained from speaking for two good years just so he could call her “my darling.”
But then he wanted to tell her that he loved her, so he waited three more
years. At the end of those five years he wanted to ask her to marry him, so he
waited another four years.
Finally, as the ninth year of silence ended
– on that very faithful Valentine’s Day – he led the lady to the most romantic
place in the kingdom & said; “My darling, I love you! Will you marry me?”
and the lady said “pardon?”
